---- anyone else after spending eight years with him. When he decided to do something , he'd make sure everyone knew about it. With how powerful the Millers were, no one would dare to casually spread rumors about his personal life. It was during autumn the next year when I saw Gideon again. I placed a freshly knitted strawberry hat on Juno. She lifted the hem of her dress and gave me a curtsy while saying, "Thank you!" I patted her on the head, realizing how much I indulged her.

Juno tugged on the hem of my shirt and said cutely, "I want some peach crisps! Can you make me some, please?" I reached out a finger to touch her nose, finding her adorable. I then pointed at the grocery store in front. " Juno will have to go get some peaches on her own then." Juno gave an excited twirl when I agreed to it." Mommy is the best! I love you, Mommy!" She happily ran to the grocery store with some money in hand.

I realized life couldn't get any better as I watched her innocent demeanor. ---- Aman suddenly appeared beside me. I did not look over, but his presence was too prominent. Feeling awkward, I stepped away slightly. He slowly spoke in a deep voice. "Is she my daughter?" Confused , I turned around and met with the man's gaze. Time truly was a wonderful remedy. Gideon was once a thorn in my heart, but in just two short years, I'd forgotten the sound of his voice.

I coldly said, "Did you become stupid after you got married, Mr. Miller?" Juno stood at the entrance of the grocery store, waving the two large peaches in her hands before running toward me. "T don't want my daughter to see you, Mr. Miller." I took the peaches from Juno and took her hand. Then, we headed home. As she walked, she turned around to look at Gideon. She then asked, "Who's that strange mister, Mommy?

He looks like he's about to cry." I ruffled her hair and reminded her to keep her eyes on the road ahead. "He's just a bad mister who's dishonest. You can't learn his ways, Juno." Juno raised her hand and replied, "I promise to be a good and honest girl! We won't play with the bad ---- mister then, Mommy!" Gideon stood watching us from afar when Juno and I were making peach crisps at home. She was at the age where she was curious about everything.

As she was mixing the toppings, she looked up and asked, "Is that bad mister friends with you, Mommy? Why does he keep staring at us?" I cut the peach and replied, "That mister was indeed my friend two years ago, but now, I don't want to be his friend anymore." Juno walked over and hugged my legs. "If Mommy doesn't want to be his friend, then I don't want to be his friend either!" Iheaded out after Juno fell asleep. Gideon walked over toward me and stopped short of a step before me.

He stared at me with tired eyes. He asked, "Have you been doing well, Janice?" I replied , "Of course. I'd be even better if you hadn't shown up." Gideon's eyes were red as he smiled softly. "Thank you for taking good care of our daughter. I'm sorry for what I've done." I stared at him as if he was crazy. I replied disdainfully , "Go get your head checked instead of ---- talking to me. Juno is my daughter. She has no relation to you!" It was as if Gideon didn't understand what I was saying.

He even looked relieved when he said, '"Juno- what a beautiful name. So, our daughter's name is Juno." I couldn't be bothered to correct him twice. I warned, " I came to see you just to ask you to stop interfering with my life. I don't want to suffer through Ms. Hoffman's tactics again. "Maybe a woman's reputation might mean nothing to you, but to me, it's the last straw that could break me. If you still care about our past, please just let me go, Mr. Miller." Gideon grabbed my wrist.

His tears dripped onto the back of my hand. "What can I do so you'll forgive me, Janice?"
