They had already picked out more than ten dresses alone for the occasion. Selena, feeling completely overwhelmed by the situation , finally extricated herself from Matilda's endeavors by telling her that she had to attend some class later in the afternoon. Having concluded her floral arrangement class, Selena was in the process of gathering her belongings when one of her friends from the class suddenly yelled from the entrance, teasing, "Your boyfriend's here to pick you up again, Selena!
You guys are seriously attached at the hip!" Ever since the unsettling encounter with Edmund following a class session, Herman started picking her up pretty much every day. Selena, her cheeks flushed, ---- waved goodbye to her friends before hurrying outside. Herman effortlessly took her bag and drove her toa newly opened restaurant nearby.

Upon taking their seats, Herman noticed a pastry shop across the street and recalled Selena mentioning that she hadn't had custard tarts for quite some time. He then stood up from his seat and said, "I've already placed the order for our food, Sellie. I'll step out for a moment to grab something, so please wait for me for awhile." Without giving it much thought, Selena replied in the affirmative.
Hidden from view by a nearby partition , Edmund's eyes remained fixed on Selena's every feature, a yearning evident in his gaze. He had trailed Selena from her class to the restaurant. It was the first instance he had witnessed Selena being so lively. In their shared past, she had been a figure of quiet obedience , a doll devoid of emotion , never once revealing her inner thoughts.
Yet, in Herman's company, Selena was a whirlwind of playfulness, a creature of whims and passions, openly sharing her joys and sorrows. It finally dawned on Edmund that this was the authentic Selena, revealed only in the presence of true affection. In the past few days, he had been overwhelmed by ---- company matters , even going several days without a proper night's sleep.
Yet, when he finally found some time to fly to Galenport , he was met with the sight of Selena, her eyes brimming with affection and joy, walking hand in hand with Herman. He was driven to the brink of insanity by jealousy but there was nothing he could do about it. If he had recognized his feelings for her earlier, things might not have spiraled so badly, and their relationship wouldn't have become so strained. It was all too late now, though.
Edmund's eyes were fixed on Selena, fighting to suppress the intense urge to whisk her away. It was then that a woman with messy hair stormed in, brandishing a dagger and charging toward Selena, yelling, "Go to hell, Selena!"
