---- Chapter 17 That simple remark ticked Seth off almost instantly . Seth's eyes turned red. He looked like a rabid beast as he clenched his jaw tightly. On the other hand, Vincent stared at Seth indifferently. He did not appear upset in the slightest. Still, even with that impassive look on his face, the presence Vincent was giving off overpowered that of Seth's. Upon sensing that Seth was about to have an outburst, Vincent glanced over his shoulder and looked at Emma worriedly.
"Emma, there's something wrong with this guy's mental state. You should wait for me somewhere else. I wouldn't want him to give you a scare. "No wonder you decided to divorce him. He doesn't even care about your feelings. You made the right choice." Seth's anger boiled over. He was this close to pointing his finger at Vincent and yelling at him for being pretentious. Yet, he found himself feeling a bit sad and regretful just then.
---- In the past, Seth had not once taken Emma's side whenever June tried to pull one of her tricks. He could not help wondering if Emma had also felt angry and helpless back then, just like he was now. Seth realized that what he did was wrong. He was convinced that Emma would surely give him a chance to earn her forgiveness. However, Emma walked away expressionlessly before Seth could even open his mouth. She did not spare him a glance the entire time.

It was as if the flame that had just started burning in his heart was doused with water. Seth's heart was filled with a cold, hollow feeling. Then, he felt a spasm of pain in his chest as he was overcome with guilt and remorse. Once Emma had moved out of sight, Vincent decided not to waste too much time talking to Seth. His voice became completely devoid of warmth and emotion after Emma left. The way he stared at Seth was no different from how he would look at any lifeless object.
"T know about what happened between you and Emma. So, I'd like to be very clear about one thing. You've let her down. However, there are many others who are more than willing to love and cherish her. "Seth Hunter, you're a poor judge of character. If you ---- still have even the slightest bit of decency, you should stop showing your face in front of us." Seth clenched his fists and retorted, 'What would you even know? Emma and I have been together for years.
We've known each other since we were kids. "She's only seeing you now because she's sad and needs someone to comfort her after her divorce. You're nothing but a plaything to her. Who are you to say these things to me?" Seth raised his chin slightly. He noticed that he was able to lessen the anxiety within him by demeaning Vincent. He knew Emma well. He felt that she probably did not consider her relationship with Vincent as anything serious. Vincent had a dark, menacing look in his eyes.
He saw no need in telling Seth about his real identity just to crush the latter's ego. Moreover , he did not even see Seth as a potential threat. Vincent merely replied in a low voice, "Anyhow, she's chosen to divorce you. You've known her for years. Therefore, you must be aware of how Emma won't go back on her decisions once she's made up her mind.
"Even if she eventually decides to stop seeing me, Emma won't ever at any point choose to go back to you." ---- Seth gritted his teeth so hard that he could even taste blood in his mouth. Vincent was struck by a thought just as he was about to leave. He stopped next to Seth and smiled enigmatically. "Do you want to try and guess when Emma started seeing me? "It was about a week after you two got married.
Seth, you thought that Emma was so deeply in love with you and her feelings for you would remain unchanged . Yet, she had been planning to leave you from the start. Frankly, you got what you deserved ." Something inside him snapped when Seth heard those words. His face was drained of color, and his body started swaying a little. Everything went black. Seth collapsed onto the floor and passed out in the corridor.
