---- Chapter 21 The light in Seth's eyes diminished almost instantly. He could see it clearly now that Emma no longer loved him. The look of disdain in her eyes was like a knife to his heart. The agony made Seth feel like he was being slowly tortured to death. Emma leaned forward and helped tuck Seth in. However, her tone was icy. "Seth , you saved me. So, I'll consider us even now. You best pray that we won't run into each other while working after this.

I will never forgive you after what you've done to me. Do you understand what I'm saying?" Seth started coughing uncontrollably after hearing her words. He wanted to explain for himself, yet any efforts he made would only be in vain. Just as Emma was about to leave, someone came barging into the room. It was June. Tears streamed from her eyes. June did not rush over to Seth's side to check on his condition right away.

Instead, she strode toward Emma, threw her arm back, and was about to slap Emma. Fortunately , someone acted faster than her. He showed no consideration over the fact that she was a pregnant woman. However, June managed to turn her body away slightly as she sensed danger. Still, she got kicked on her side. Emma was quite taken aback after seeing what happened. She subconsciously placed her hand on her lower abdomen. "Weren't you being too rough just now?" She furrowed her brows. Since she had missed her opportunity to lash out at Emma, June cast Seth a sad and pitiful gaze.

In a fit of rage, he swept everything on the bedside table onto the floor. Then, Vincent shielded Emma and led her out of the ward. As soon as they came outside, Emma asked skeptically , "June did something she shouldn't have. Did you play a part in prompting her to do it? Also, did she suddenly show up here because of you?" Vincent blinked a few times and adopted an innocent expression. "Emma, I've seen how Seth Hunter, that awful man, has been bugging you.

I didn't want you to look so ---- troubled. Everything's perfect now. Those two will be too busy sorting out their own issues. Seth won't have the time to bother you." Vincent's mouth twisted upward by the end of his final remark. If he had a tail, Vincent would probably be pointing his tail upward and wagging it happily . Initially, Emma was going to put ona stern expression and lecture him a little. However, she could not help bursting into laughter when she saw the silly look on his face.

Vincent seemed even more elated . It looked as if he had just stumbled upon something precious. "Emma, you smiled! You're finally smiling." Emma felt a warm feeling in her chest as she could sense how much Vincent cared about her.
