---- 17. The Part With Cameron's Truth The next day, even after Cammie goes cold on me, and even after I screw up and sleep with Pam, I felt great. The talk I had with Pam was somehow an eye- opener. Yes, I like Cameron. In fact, I like her so much that I didn't even feel anything for Pam. It was the first time that I can say that I did not want to get back together with her, or that I did not miss her. The one I miss now was Cameron.

Cammie probably was straight and she probably was in love with her mystery roommate or something ... But I didn't want to lose her. I haven't felt this good in years and if being around Cammie would help me, even if I know I can't have her, then I would stick around and be her friend. Besides, that would be the right thing to do. "Tiff!" I called, cringing as I see her red laced thong on the couch.

She came running in the living room, "What?" Her train of sight followed mine, her face went red all of the sudden. "shit!" "Jesus, Tiff, did you and Pete do it in this couch?" My best friend couldn't look at me. She hid her lingerie behind her back. "I am just in the other room. You ---- know that, don't you?" She throws me a shy glance and tries to change the topic, "So anywho... Did you try to call Cammie again? " My heart sulks a bit. I give her a nod and say, "Yeah.

Still goes straight to voicemail. I wonder why she hasn't return my calls." Tiff nears me, "Oh, Gail." She puts a hand on my shoulder , a hand hooked with the thong. '"S-sorry, sorry." I collapse on the couch, sprawling out my arms. I was alittle confused about Cammie, why hasn't she called back? On the other hand, I was also a little terrified. My feelings for her can't help to be intensified from her absence.

"Do you think I somehow scared her off, or something?" I ask, feeling the burden of not knowing. "T don't think so. I mean, from all your stories you seemed to be normal. And from Cameron's words, ' charming'." "Those two days with her were the best days I've ever had... Do you think it would be weird if we went to Cream and Sugar today?" A sudden surge of excitement flowed through me from the idea of seeing Cammie today. Before Tiff could even decline my suggestion, in ---- comes Peter.

"Hey guys," he greets us, then his eyebrows meet in confusion, "are you two ready? Tiffany and I glance at each other, "Ready for what?" His bride -to-be asks , holding up the hand hooked with the thong. Pete points at Tiff's hand, "Why are you holding a thong?" Tiff was about to explain when he waves it off, "Anyway, unimportant. Uhm, did you two forget we're meeting Simon today?" We threw glances at each other again. "Oh shoot, was that today?" I ask, totally losing track of time.

The four of us agreed to meet up since Simon needed help with moving uptown. "You two are such-" Before Pete could even finish his sentence, Tiff waves him off and tells me to get ready. "Are we going to go straight to his apartment? I wanted to grab a bagel first." Tiff says as I stand up. In the end, I guess she somehow agrees with casually visiting Cammie. "That's perfect , Simon is having lunch over Cream and Sugar.

I'll just tell him to wait for us there." I fist bump god up in the sky, mouthing a silent thank you. I was calm on the outside , on the inside, however , I was screaming like the little girl lam. ---- We were on our way to meet Simon at the coffee house and I couldn't be more excited. "So, how's Pam, Gail? " Pete asks me as he adjusted his rearview mirror. He was smirking and chuckling like the little devil he is. "Alright, I guess. Any other question, asshole?" I ask him, now I was smirking.

"Gail." Tiff calls on me. "What? He started it!" I cross my arms, feeling shivers again as I re-imagine Pam and I doing it. "Sorry, I just wanted to see you all worked up since I'm losing the bet anyway." I threw a look at him and then to Tiff, "Control your man, for christ sake, Tiffany." The ride was lighter after I said that. Of course we were just messing around, but I gotta say it made me think a little bit. I just can't believe how things can happen in just three to four days.

We made it to the coffee house. Simon, who sat on the wooden table, was munching on a couple of doughnuts. "Ah, so this is lunch?" I ask him in a sarcastic tone.
