---- Wow, she seems to act calmer and cooler despite her feelings for me. Jokes on you, Tiff. The cab push to a stop, I was here already. I pay the needed fare and got out, quickly making up my mind to reply. Thope it does too. I'm here, text you later. Without thinking, I put my phone on vibrate, pushing it deep inside my bag, not wanting to think about Cameron tonight. I started to walk inside and I found Alex waiting for me.
"Hey, ready to go?" She flashes a grin at me, it was shy and awkward, "Y- yeah." We left the building in silence and walked up to the pavement to hail down a cab. "Do you like seafood? I kinda have a place in mind." Alex was wearing a sleeveless shirt and I catch her shiver a bit.
"Uhm, I'm actually allergic." "Oh, well," I thought of another restaurant and asked her, "how about steak?" She slowly shakes her head, "I'm vegetarian." My eyebrows rise up and I see her sink into her embarrassment, "Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that first." I wave my hand off so she could feel comfortable again, "It's okay. How about you, what do you want to eat?" She drifts off for a bit and I catch her shiver ---- again.
I was wearing a long sleeved shirt anda cardigan, that's why I didn't feel so cold. "There's this place I regularly go to." she says as I take my cardigan off. "Here," I say, making her face me, "you must be cold. "Tcatch her blush a little bit as I smile at her. "T-thanks." A little later, we found ourselves sitting inside a pub, " Me and my friends usually hang out here." I was surprised that the bartender didn't card her when she asked for two beers.

"This kind of reminds me of a pub my friends and I went too, "I smiled, admiring the place. "of course then we only ate curly fries and drank soda." Alex nodded, "Gail, c-can I ask you something?" I was looking at the menu, trying to decide on what to order. "Yeah, sure." She cleared her throat and said, "Is this a date?" I gave her a shrug, my mind went to Cammie again, and I didn't know how to answer. "Well, only if you want it to be." Alex opened her mouth, then closed it again.
She was hesitating on declaring something, I suppose. "Then I ---- guess it is." She smiles confidently for the first time tonight, but it quickly fades to embarrassment. We both take a sip off our beer and the waitress comes to take our order. I ordered a burger and fries, while Alex ordered a vegetarian burger and chocolate sundae. I wondered how that burger would taste? "So, tell mea little bit about yourself." I ask her, making her blush.
"U-uhm, there isn't much to tell." She puts a strand of hair behind her ear and I see three earrings on it. "Wow," I pointed to it, "you have three pierces, that must've hurt." She shakes her head, "Not really." I waited for a few seconds so she could follow up her statement with some sort of story, or a topic, anything really. But she just closes her mouth and falls silently.
I clear my throat and speak again, " What year are you in college?" "Uhm, third." She says, sipping off her beer, "how long have you worked in web design?" "Ever since I graduated. It's what I wanted to do ever since I went to college." Alex nods at my answer, " How about you? Do you plan to pursue web design?" "No," she says simply, "I actually want to bea graphic artist or an illustrator." ---- Wow, I tell her as I was impressed. Illustrations weren't really my strong suit.
We finished our beer before our food came. Went it did, Alex ordered a refill. I eye her food for a moment. The patty in her burger was lighter than normal and I just had to ask, "Hey, so, how does a vegetarian burger taste?" Alex bites off her burger before answering me. With a full mouth, she answers, "Not too bad." She hands it to me and gestures for me to take a bite. I do so as she ask, I see her blush a little when I do. It was weird, the taste, I mean.
Of course I didn't speak it out loud. I just nodded and smiled as I chewed the non-meat burger. Iasked her about her schooling and she told be very minimally about it. Of course, I told myself not to mind, maybe she was just a private person. We finished eating and I noticed Alex went through four glasses of beer throughout. Her cheeks were already starting to flush pink, "Are you alright? You looka little tipsy." Alex chuckles , "I'm fine. Sorry, I was going through all those glasses like a hog, I'm sorry."
