---- 5. The Part Where We Talk All Night Ihang up on Cameron as soon as she agreed, promising her that I would arrive back there in a few minutes. 'Hey, can you turn back to the last stop we went to?" The driver winced, he was young, probably younger than me. "Give me a break lady, this is my route on home." My eyebrows raised up, "I'll pay you double than what I owe you. Now come on, turn this cab around." I earn another wince from him, but he didn't really fight my offer. I felt normal now.

No song, no picture, and no stupid memory flaunted itself inside my mind. I was calm and that's the way it should be. I just needed to keep my cool as long as I was with Cammie. Straight or not, she was my friend now. Although she was a friend I really liked -too much, probably -that should be set aside since my relationship with her is definitely on shallow ground. I don't wanna mess things up just because of my silly little crush. As promised , I was there in less than ten minutes.

I told the driver -which I found out was named Jason - to step on the gas. I called to ask Cameron what floor she was in, she told me she was at the third floor, ---- room number nineteen. "Hey, still locked, huh?" I asked the obvious, she was sitting in front of her door. "Yeah. Still no luck on opening it." I sat beside her. Her coat was on her lap, since it was hotter in here compared to the outside. Iracked my brain of tricks on opening her door up, since I offered to 'help' and all.

'How about we try to open it with a card or something?" Cameron shook her head, "It's double locked, specifically to fend off that old trick." She smiles despite the bad luck she was having. I sighed, "How about a fire exit? Is it inside or outside the building?" The blonde thought for a moment, "Oh! It's outside! We can climb on there!" She says, excited for the plan.

I nodded , "All right, let's go out and climb on your fire exit." We were both looking up, "Okay, I did not expect it to be so high up." Cameron says, scratching her head in the process. The alley we were in was dark, it was creepy and chilly, "I can boost you up if you want.

We can close this garbage bin, I can stand on it, you can sit on my ---- shoulder and grab the ladder to boost you up." Cammie looked at me, a little fascinated on howI worked all that out, "Wow, are you sure you haven't done this before?" "Nope. I'm just very spatial and resourceful, I guess." I gave her a grin and she nodded. She took notice on how cold I was getting and handed me her coat. "Seems like you need that more than I do.

"IT shrug and take her coat since she was not shivering at all. "All right." I rubbed my hands together and lifted myself up the garbage bin, Cameron went on after me. When both of us were standing on the bin, I say, " Does this remind you of a Friends episode or is it just me?" Cameron chuckled, "Now that you mentioned it, yeah it does. The one with Ross and Joey?" "Yeah, that's the one." I say with a smile.

"All right let's talk more later, the stench of the garbage is really getting to me." Okay, she says with a chuckle again. I hunch down, soon after she slowly fixes her legs on my shoulders. Steadily, I stand up, using the brick wall to support both Cameron and me. "I got it." Cameron says, I hear the rattling of metal and soon the ladder falls down.

---- "Great," I groan as I slowly hunch back down, as soon as Cameron hops off, I breathe air in, "great." "Thank you!" The blonde says excitedly , "Come on, let's go up." We went up, I have been breathing heavier and heavier, all though I tried to hide it. Cameron stopped in front of her room's window, pushed it a couple times, until it budged. I heaved out a breath as Cameron went inside before me. I averted my eyes away from her behind and looked somewhere else.

When she was inside she helped me in, "Here let me help you," she says, offering her left hand. There was the silver ring again. "Thanks." I say, finally seeing the inside of her apartment. "T'm sorry you had to see my place this way. You know, climbing in the window of an apartment isn't really an ideal welcome." Cameron disappeared to another room as she said this. "Don't worry about it. I always love to try out new things." I walked about her apartment, finding myself in the living room.

Not long after, Cameron emerged back with a glass of water. "Oh, thank you." "Oh no, god, thank you. If you haven't called to check up on me god knows I would still be sulking outside my door." She says with a smile. I tried to fend off my
