---- Chapter 11 Caesar returned home and entered the villa. Nothing inside had changed , but he still felt like something was missing . He absent -mindedly took off his suit jacket and habitually held it out. Then, he froze when he heard it fall to the floor. He headed to the living room and looked at the empty couch. In the past, no matter how late he returned , Nadia would always be seated there while waiting for him. She would get him his lounge slippers when he got back and take his coat.
He walked past the kitchen. It was dark and quiet inside-there was no longer any food being kept warm for him in case he was hungry when he returned. Caesar walked into the second bedroom when he passed it. The room's furnishings were still the same. Everything was so plain and simple that it contrasted starkly with the rest of the villa's lavish decorations . It matched the room's owner's tastes, though. Still, Nadia would never return.
From the day onward , Caesar had the same dream every night. It would always end with Nadia crash - landing onto his car. ---- Her lips weren't parted when their gazes met through the shattered glass, but he seemed to hear her voice regardless . It was as if she was telling him that she regretted loving him. Rays of moonlight filtered into the room through the gaps in the curtains. Caesar sat up in his wide bed. His chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath.
His heart raced for a long time, leaving him incapable of calming down. He sat there until the sky turned bright. Then, he changed and left the house. Ashley Johnson didn't even look up when Caesar entered her office again. She was evidently used to this. "Had another nightmare? Don't tell me you stayed up the whole night again. If you continue like this, I think you can tell your father to have another child while he's still capable. "You're gonna die young.

You don't want the Gray family to end up with no heir to inherit the massive family fortune, right?" He didn't bother hiding his teasing tone, but Caesar didn't take it to heart. He merely shook his head in resignation. It wasn't that he loved staying up all night. He just couldn't move past the memory because it was too vivid. He'd tried undergoing treatment and had taken ---- various medications for the past few months. Nothing had worked. He couldn't forget Nadia, nor did he want to.
Tragically, he only realized that he couldn't live without her once she'd died before his very eyes and disappeared from his life. Ashley was an accomplished psychiatrist, but he couldn't help him. After leaving the hospital, Caesar went to the cemetery where Nadia was buried. On his way there, he passed by a flower shop and wandered inside. The store clerk greeted him warmly, but he waved, indicating he wanted to look around himself.
There were many flowers in the store-roses of different species and colors, tulips about to bloom , and daisies that were already in full bloom. None of them appealed to Caesar until he saw another store clerk wrapping a bouquet of white flowers. For some reason, he felt like they were a perfect match for Nadia. He pointed at the bouquet and asked, "What flowers are those?" "These are called jasmine tobacco." The store clerk who'd greeted him approached him.
She smiled and asked, "May I ask for whom you're getting flowers , sire" ---- "My beloved." The answer spilled from his lips before he'd even processed the question. He fell silent without saying anything else. The store clerk chuckled. "The flower language of jasmine tobacco flowers means 'no love other than you.' It's perfect to give to someone you love." "T'll have a bouquet of those, then," Caesar said. There was only one bouquet before Nadia's grave.
Caesar was the one who'd placed them there on his last visit. It was a shame that she'd spent so much energy on him throughout her short life that she hadn't had time to build bonds with others. Yet none of the people in his life had ever been kind to her. Now that she was dead, he was the only one who mourned her. Ironically , he was also the one who'd hurt her most. Caesar placed the flowers before the grave and smiled bitterly. "I'm sorry, Nadia.
It took me too long to realize how I felt, making us end up like this. Perhaps you regret falling for me or think I'm unworthy of saying this, but I still want you to know that I love you. " He would never love anyone else for the rest of his life.
