---- Chapter 14. "Dig up everything you can find on Nadia Creswell and bring it to me by today. I want to know everything about her from the moment she was born." Caesar hung up after issuing the order. His heart was racing. He felt like he was getting closer to the truth, but it was likely the truth was very different from what everyone knew about Nadia. The sky was still completely dark. He checked the time and saw that it was only 3:00 am. It was early, but he couldn't fall asleep anymore.

He wasn't sleepy in the slightest. When the morning came and Caesar went to work, everyone at Gray Corporation noticed his absent- mindedness. He was supposed to be reading a document, but his eyes were out of focus, and he was clearly distracted. His assistant , Corey Slater , noticed this more than once and tried to recall what had happened recently. Had he missed out on something big? It couldn't be that Philip had actually decided to have another child, right?

Or did he have an illegitimate son out there? Corey's imagination went wild. He didn't want to ---- overthink this, but no one in Gray Corporation had ever seen Caesar like this. To them, he was like a robot that couldn't be hurt by anything . He was naturally daunting and aloof. Josephine had been the only person who could affect his emotions, but Nadia had replaced her after the wedding. Yet, Nadia had died. Corey was startled by that thought. Could there be any news on Nadia?

But what could happen to her when she was already dead? She couldn't have faked her death, right? He shook his head and evicted the thought from his mind. Nadia had jumped off the 99th floor and plunged to her death with so many people watching. She'd been declared dead on the spot before being taken to a funeral parlor. He decided not to obsess over the matter since he couldn't puzzle it out. Instead , he asked Caesar, "Is anything wrong with the document, Mr.

Gray?" Only then did Caesar return to his senses. He scanned the document before signing the last page. Then, he threw it back at Corey. As Corey left the office , Caesar received an email. He opened it to be greeted by Nadia's photo on the first page. She wore a plain white shirt, and her hair cascaded in curls down her shoulders. A perfect smile curved her lips, accentuating her beauty.

---- Even someone like Caesar , who was used to seeing beautiful women, couldn't help but think that Nadia was indeed gorgeous. It was just that he and the people around him had only seen how desperate she was when with him. He sighed and continued reading the email. After a while, he frowned. The email only contained information on Nadia from high school onward, which was after they had met.

Back then, her entire world had revolved around Caesar, so he already knew most of the things mentioned. There was nothing on what he really wanted to know. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number. Soon, the other party answered the call. He snarled , "What the hell is this? I told you to find out everything. Why have you only given me information that spans the past decade? What about her life before then?

Is this the sort of attitude you should have at work?" His voice was so icy that Corey could almost feel it on the other end of the line. He wanted to protest. He swore he wasn't slacking off. He just couldn't find anything else! It'd been bad enough that he'd been rudely awakened at 3:00 am to work. He'd comforted himself, thinking ---- that digging up someone's background probably wouldn't take long. Unfortunately , that wasn't the case.

Tracing back through recent years had been easy enough . Corey had found so many detailed records that he even knew where Nadia had gone and what she had done. His heart ached for her when he saw the things she'd endured. Soon, however, his heart started aching for himself. He'd found superficial information on Nadia's life before high school, but since Caesar had asked for details, he'd dug deeper. That was when he'd discovered a huge secret -all of the information on Nadia that could be traced was fake!
