---- Chapter 13 The clock pointed at 12 by the time Caesar wrapped up his work. The office building was still brightly lit, though. He turned off his computer and walked out of the office. Then, he took the elevator down to the basement parking lot. The rest of the employees in the building heaved sighs of relief, their straight backs bending as they sagged. Then, they started whispering among themselves. "Don't you think Mr. Gray's been pushing himself a little too hard lately?

He only leaves the office at midnight and arrives at 7:00 am the following day. I don't even have the nerve to arrive on the dot anymore." "Tell me about it. I also heard that he's been going to the hospital more regularly recently. It seems he's been having nightmares every night and wakes up at 2:00 or 3:00 am." "Doesn't that mean he only sleeps a couple of hours each day? That's horrible!

Then again, I guess it's a normal reaction to seeing his newlywed wife die before his very eyes." They lamented Nadia's fate. Meanwhile , Caesar returned to the villa and washed ---- up before getting into bed. He soon fell deeply asleep. Unsurprisingly , he dreamed about Nadia again. This time, however, things were slightly different. He was taken back to his wedding day in the dream.

He watched it play out from an outsider's perspective and saw a silly smile spread on Nadia's face as she stared at the wedding ring while the guests mocked her. Shortly after, she shot to her feet and bolted out of the banquet hall. The elevator heading upstairs soon arrived, and he followed her as she made a beeline for the rooftop. He watched as the wind lifted the hem of her gown and her veil, forming beautiful arcs.

Then, he watched as she threw herself off the building without the slightest bit of hesitation. The image broke his heart. Caesar widened his eyes and reached out to grab Nadia, but his hand passed right through her. He couldn't touch her. All he could see was the relieved smile on her face before she swiftly descended. His heart raced, and an unknown force pushed him to jump off the building with her.

That was when he saw her lips part as she called out, "Theodore Camden , I'm coming!" Theodore Camden? The dream shattered, and Caesar jolted awake. He ---- gasped for breath. His eyes were filled with shock. He didn't know who Theodore was, but he'd heard the name before. It hadn't happened too long ago, but it seemed to take him a century to dredge up the memory from the recesses of his brain. The name finally awakened a memory he'd sealed away.

The first time he'd heard of Theodore was when Nadia had walked home from the hospital in the rain. She'd rested in bed after burning up a fever, and he'd heard her muttering something in her sleep. He'd had to lean close and focus before making out what she was saying-Theo. Caesar had asked Nadia who Theo was when she'd woken up, and she'd told him he was her brother , a person she relied on.

He'd found it odd then but hadn't thought much of it because he'd never bothered finding out more about her family. Now that he knew Theodore's surname , he realized why he found the whole thing odd-if Theodore really was Nadia's brother, why were their surnames different? There were explanations for that, but Caesar's instincts told him things weren't as simple as they seemed.
