---- Chapter 20 After the proposal, the wedding plans were quickly set in motion. Nadia and Theodore were childhood friends . Their relationship was supported by both families before her parents, Jonah Creswell and Eliza Hampton, passed from illnesses. After that, Harriet and Lilac took her in and treated her as their own. They couldn't be happier now that the wedding was set. Before the wedding, Theodore accompanied Nadia to visit the cemetery.

He said, "Nadia and I will be getting married in two months, Mr. and Mrs. Creswell. Please don't worry, I promise I'll take good care of her. I won't let her be sad, and I won't let anyone bully her. "You're friends with my parents , so you knew how much they loved Nadia-even more than they loved me. I'll make sure she never suffers-" This wasn't Theodore's first time paying his respects to Jonah and Eliza, but he still felt incredibly nervous.

Nadia could feel his hand trembling as she held it. ---- Amused, she squeezed his hand tightly in return. They exchanged a smile and poured their hearts out in front of the grave. They happily reminisced about the past and looked forward to the future. Caesar watched as the scene unfolded before him from some distance. He couldn't hold back his tears. Like a voyeur, he was silently watching the person he loved being happy with someone else, yet he was too afraid to take a step forward.

The more Caesar watched , the more he could sense the love between them-one so natural and intimate, as if they were in sync with each other. It was completely different from when Nadia was with him. He was the only one who was completely shut out of her world, yet he was powerless to stop it. "Do you regret it now?" The system, which had been silent for a while, suddenly spoke up. At the same time, a glowing orb appeared by his side.

It sighed when it saw how Caesar was longingly looking at Nadia. It had anticipated this outcome from the very start. After all, it had known that Nadia loved Theodore when it first saw her. Her eyes were filled with despair then, looking glum and depressed . She was even holding a fruit knife in ---- her hand when the system found her. It had no doubt that Nadia would've slit her wrist open with the knife if it had approached her any later.

In order to persuade her to accept the mission , the system had offered her various benefits-wealth, status, and men. And yet, she was indifferent to all of them. It wasn't until the system, unable to guess what Nadia truly wanted, had given up and said, "I can grant you one wish as long as you complete the mission, Nadia." Only then, did her dull and lifeless gaze finally stir. She looked toward the glowing orb floating in the air and asked, "Anything?" "Anything," the system replied.

It nearly cried seeing that Nadia had finally reacted. She then said, "I want Theodore to come back to life." The system agreed to her condition and brought her to the mission world. No one would've expected that Caesar, who had been cold toward Nadia for 10 whole years, would suddenly fall in love with her after her death. He even chased after her stubbornly , crossing to the real world and taking a suicidal path, all just to cling to the slightest hope.

However , it was clear to everyone else that he would ---- never succeed. Caesar felt a bitter lump in her throat when he saw Nadia walking away with Theodore, yet he still shook his head when he heard the system's question. "I refuse to believe it. I still want to take a chance." What if she was just like him back then? Maybe it wasn't that she felt nothing for him; maybe she just never noticed it? Caesar didn't care if he would eventually die. He only wanted a definite answer.
