---- Chapter 19 Nadia did not blame Caesar for his indifference toward her. After all, she had known from the start that he didn't love her. She was the one who insisted on invading his life. She let them ridicule her for their amusement. But in the end, Nadia was just a human. She couldn't bring herself to casually chat with the person who had once wounded and humiliated her after everything that had happened.

As such, she stood in front of Caesar, watching him in pain and distress without a single shard of sympathy. She merely watched him and waited for him to reveal his intentions. He said, "I'm sorry, Nadia. Can you forgive me? I only had my eyes for Josephine in the past, and I missed out on a lot because of that. 1 failed to realize that I had already fallen in love with you. But by the time I realized it, you had already left me for good.

"T thought we would never meet again, until I found out that you're not from my world. System said it couldn't bring you back again, so I came over to your world. Can you give me another chance and start over with me? I promise that I'll cherish you and the love we had this time, please?" ---- Caesar started sobbing again as he spoke. It took him awhile to realize that Nadia simply stood there, looking cold and indifferent. The unease in his heart started to grow.

He finally heard her answer after some time. "No." Nadia's cold reply struck him hard, causing a sharp pain to spread across his body. His chest heaved violently as if he was about to suffocate. Yet, she remained looking at him indifferently. Calmly, she said, "You shouldn't have come here." The best ending for them was to return to their respective worlds and live the lives they were supposed to live, not to cling on incessantly. Besides, Nadia did not believe Caesar when he said he loved her.

If you truly loved someone , you would always think about them. You'd wonder if they were eating or sleeping well. You would get jealous whenever someone was around them, and you'd never want to see them hurt. It was impossible for love to be hidden. However , Nadia had never felt that kind of love from Caesar. For the past 10 years she was with him, he only had eyes for Josephine. And besides , Nadia had never loved him either. The ---- only person she had loved from the start was Theodore.

"Do you really feel nothing for me, Nadia?" Caesar felt a suffocating pain when he saw the way she was kicking him out without hesitation. He saw her nodding shortly after. "That's right. After you found out about System, I thought you'd realize that the 10 years I spent with you were just part of the mission.

"T wouldn't have accepted this mission in the first place if System hadn't promised me that, by completing the mission, it would bring Theodore back to life." "But what about the 10 years we spent together? Even if you only got closer to me because of the mission, in the past 10 years-" Caesar couldn't help but raise his voice. Yet Nadia soon interrupted him, "It doesn't mean anything.

If I couldn't even make you realize that you liked me in all those years, how did you suddenly figure out that you love me now, Caesar ? Was it just because I died?" Her lips curled up in a sarcastic smile as she spoke. She found it laughable that her death would suddenly make him realize that he loved her. But a love obtained through this way-who could tell ---- how much of it was real or otherwise ? Was it really love, or was it the unwillingness to let go after losing someone?

Nadia felt that Caesar was feeling the latter. She walked forward , unlocked her door, and walked in. Before she closed the door, she turned around and looked at him. "I don't know how you found my place, but I hope this won't happen a second time. Otherwise, I'll call the police on you next time."
