---- children with her, and maybe her husband too. You're okay with that?" Amoment's consideration, brows furrowing, and then Ashly said, "Yeah. Her child can share with Adom if they want. They should get to know each other. They're "counselors ," technically "the same age, right?" "Yeah, just about," Alex replied, feeling like this should be somehow harder. Technicalities aside, his sister child and Adom were the same age and would grow up more like cousins than some other family relative.
Maybe that would be better in the long run. They would always have each other. Ashly came over and nudged her mate in the side with one bony elbow, knocking him out of his thoughts. " You should call your sister back." Alex took a deep breath and agreed, "Yeah, I should." He leaned in for a kiss first, though, tugging his mate forward by the waist. Ashly curled her arms around Alex's neck and played with his still-damp hair. "She can't kill you through the phone," she teased.
"She'll have to fly all the way here first, so you'll have plenty of warning." Alex chuckled. "What, you're not going to protect me?" "You're the one who forgot to tell your sister," Ashly ---- pointed out. But she gave her mate another kiss, sidling closer. "Tell her she's not allowed to kill you. Adom has gotten attached; he'll be sad." "Just Adom, huh?" Alex murmured, biting at his mate's lower lip. "Well," Ashly said, pausing for dramatic effect and pretending to think hard about it.

"I might notice you 'were gone." "Hm, that's it? Clearly, I haven't been doing well enough, if that's the best I can get." Alex's voice had dropped to a playful growl by the end of his statement, and his teeth worried at the side of Ashly's neck. She would have marks later, in the shadows just beneath her jaw, and Alex would have the privilege of seeing them and knowing exactly where they'd come from. "T might -ah!" Ashly cut off with a gasp when her mate found a sensitive spot.
"I might miss your knot." Alex grasped his mate's ass in both hands and gave it a good squeeze. "Insatiable," he accused "I just knotted you." "J didn't say I wanted it right now," Ashly insisted , though her eyes were hooded in a way that suggested otherwise. "You said we didn't have time." "Tl text Nanny and ask her to stall them another ---- hour," Ashly suggested . Her leg was lifting , curling around Alex's hip, pulling him closer.
Alex raised an eyebrow and asked, "You really want to leave Adom with your stepdad for an extra hour?" Ashly huffed , and her leg dropped back down to the floor. "You're no fun," she complained. I let go of this dream. It was me, not you. You promised me forever. I promised you wouldn't let me go. Not after you worked so hard to get me. You promised you'd only leave for a few months. I understood . I really did. You needed to achieve your dream. I never faulted you for that. I understood.
But time passed. Messages stop. I know we were both busy. Working for my uncle was always going to take up my time. I needed to prove I belonged. I needed to prove I knew what I was doing. I needed to prove to myself that I was worthy of you. Prove that even though I was always good to you, I was still good enough. Through your eyes, I could see our future. It was bright , and we were happy. Eventually , I didn't need your eyes because I could see it on my own.
Every night, I would dream of our life together. Of when you'd come back to me and we could really start our
