His career was really important to him when he was still young, and he doesn't want to lose his dream either, but he also doesn't want his life to be controlled . He figured he could be with Juli for the sake of his career and explain everything to Monika because he was pretty sure she would understand.

But the situation got out of hand when pictures of him and Juli were posted online. It was taken after the night they talked about his situation. Juli agreed, and he hugged her, thankful that she understood his situation . He thought it was a good idea to claim Juli as his girlfriend so it would appease his manager, but his situation with Monika was the one that was ruined. He tried to explain things to her, but it took a major U-turn when she kissed him, and Sam, in return, punched her.

And it went all downhill from there. Monika left him that day; she was nowhere to be seen, and then she left the country. And just like that, Sam's world changed. He confronted his manager. He was angry at him, and even though he respects and loves his manager so much, he couldn't help but blame his manager for how things turned out. "I'm sorry, Kevin, but I can't let you control my life anymore!" That was the last thing he said before he stormed out of his manager's home.

He hasn't seen his face ever since, and he accepted another manager from the ---- company who is really friendly and started taking on every project the management would offer him. It was partly because he felt sorry about what happened between him and Monika and his management was greatly affected by Kevin, but it was mostly because he wanted to divert his attention from the woman who was consuming his thoughts.

Flashback End)) All these flashbacks came rushing to him as he found his way to the Ashly swimming pool area. He took off his socks and shoes and dipped his feet in the water as he sat in the pool's gutter. He paddled his feet slightly as he stared at his reflection when another person who was standing beside him reflected on the waters. "Hello again, Sam." Aside from the fact that his friends had asked him the same question all night, Monika should also know that he was trying to distance himself from the small crowd since they all have his attention and her being there. He felt like he wasn't supposed to be here tonight. "Just getting some fresh air. It's getting a little suffocating in there," he tried to joke, but Monika saw right through him and knew that the other guy was concealing his real feelings. Just like before.

"T see." Monika didn't push him to say things. She knows the latt er was a very laid-back person , and he doesn't like people prying on his business.
