---- keeping her up. "Ashly?" Alex's voice shook anxiously over the syllables of her name. Through cracked eyes, Ashly scowled up at the man holding her in his arms. "What the fuck? What happened?" she muttered, switching to furious kitten in her dizzy haze. Alex shook his head, clearly not understanding . He lifted them both back into an upright position, but as soon as Ashly was on her feet, she stumbled once more. Alex wrapped a strong arm around her waist , holding her close to her side.

"What's your address ?" Alex asked with urgency in his tone. "I'm taking you home." Too confused to protest, Ashly nodded and told him. She was too out of it to snap back or be stubborn. What the hell had she eaten? "Should we go to the emergency room?" Alex asked quietly once they were in the elevator. "I've never seen someone faint like that." Ashly shook her head.

She'd never fainted like that." It's just my stomach," she told Alex, despite the fact that she'd never experienced these particular symptoms before. "I have medicine at home. I can just take something for it." Alex's worried expression didn't cease. "You have ---- stomach problems?" Ash's face pinched into a pout as she nodded. What she didn't tell Alex was that her stomach problems had never burned like this before , and they'd never gotten worse when someone touched her.

Alex's grip around her waist was like fire, and her skin itched with an odd tingling sensation every time his strong fingers slipped over the silken fabric of her vest. "Are you sure it's not serious?" Ash peered up at her with a narrow gaze. "Shut up and drive me home, jerk." Alex let out a heavy breath , but he couldn't help an amused chuckle. He really misses this... His miss his Ashly... The drive to Ashly's modern house in the posh suburb at the edge of the city was all but silent.

Ashly was leaning against the car door, her forehead pressed against the cool glass of the window. She was so hot, and Alex's worried eyes never left her for even a second. Sweat was pooling along the line of her spine, beading at her hairline, and spreading across her collarbones. She'd tossed her jacket onto the seat between them as soon as they'd gotten into the back. She'd loosened her tie and unbuttoned the top of her shirt, but she ---- was still burning up.

When they pulled up to the front driveway , Ashly's hand flopped down onto the door handle. She wasn't sure if opening it was the best idea. With her luck, she'd topple out onto the pavement. Ashly's head lolled away from the window. Her hooded eyes fell on Alex. "Alex..." she drawled. Ashly didn't even have to finish her thought. Immediately, Alex got out of the car and came around to Ashly's side.

He opened the car door and, with the utmost care, unbuckled Ashly's seatbelt and helped lift her out of the car. Ashly could still stand, but her muscles were all shaking from the ache coursing through her. He couldn't believe it was spreading like it was. It burn through her from her lower abdomen through to every nerve ending in her body. He really doesn't want to take her ex-mate's help, but it's hurting like hell.

She doesn't want to disturb Allen and Sebestian; both of them are doing enough for her. "T'll take him inside ," Alex said to her driver. "You can go for the day. I'll call a cab later." The driver nodded his thanks , even while he cast a worried glance toward the pair as they turned. With a hand wrapped around Ashly's trim waist, Alex walked them to the front door. ---- "You rented a big house?" Alex asked as he saw Ashly's house. "It's mine," Ashly says in pain.

She doesn't like to live in hotels, and she is lucky enough to have property here. Her late father always liked to invest in properties , so when they want to go on vacation, they don't need to live in hotels. Like Ashly, Adom also hates hotels. Alex half-led and half-carried Ashly into her living room and settled her on the couch. Alex laid her down, her head propped up against a pillow.

Slowly, the man lifted her legs, removing her shoes one at a time before gently placing her feet on the sofa. "Hey? Ashly, are you ok?" Ashly groaned without opening her eyes. She was feeling sick and embarrassed -sick from whatever was going on with her stupid stomach and embarrassed because Alex, her ex-mate, her Alpha, whom he'd only just met, was doting on her as if they'd been courting for years. As they are living happily with a rainbow and sunshine. Fucking piece of sh*t. "Ashly," Alex said again, her voice barely a whisper.
