---- Flashback The junior staff's little stunt caught Monika's attention the most, and she tilted her head to see Sam just sitting there, his face contorted and, most of all, confused. She stared at him too, and just like everyone else, she was waiting for his next move. Sam knew he couldn't escape this situation , so he took a deep breath before putting down his cup of cold soda. He stood up and nervously pulled on his clothes before walking towards the crowd where his friends were.

His friends parted and cleared the path for him, and without them on the way, he could now perfectly see the face of the woman who had been taunting his daydreams and was visiting his mind once in a while. Once he was a few feet away from the woman, he shifted his eyes to his friends. He was afraid to meet the pair of black eyes that were already looking at him, but he needed to. "Hi," Sam croaked, his voice a little bit pitchy and high. He cleared his throat before trying again.

"Hi," he said once more. "Hello, Sam," Monika answered, and Sam just realized how much he misses Monika's voice. He wanted to ask how Monika had been for the past few years that they hadn't seen each other. Did she miss him? Did she ever think about him? ---- "How are you?" Sam said instead, feeling a little embarrassed , and decided that maybe he could ask Monika those questions he had in mind privately. "Good," Monika responded thriftily. That's it? Because of the many years, it was a hell of a time to be away from each other. "All right!" Alex clapped his hands, and everybody flinched , for they were too immersed in the drama - like scene in front of them. "Everybody, let's go back to eating! Ashly, baby, would you mind cutting cake? Let everyone taste it!" Alex's mate nodded, completely understanding what Alex meant, so he smiled at her sister and whispered , "It's good to see you, crybaby," before walking away.

Everybody dispersed too and went back to what they were doing before Monika came. They were Sam and Monika's common friends -except for that innocent junior staff, obviously -so they all know their little backstory and completely understand the tension that has been lingering in the air ever since Monika arrived. One of the old friends, who saw the whole commotion and knew what had happened between Sam and Monika, dragged her junior's ass back to the couch and tried to give her a lecture.

Alex looked back and forth at the two people standing in front of him who were staring at each other for a ---- minute now. He didn't want to bother them, as he completely knew their history. Both of them were close to him, after all, so he left silently , letting the two talk and catch up. That is, if they want to catch up. But Monika has other plans. The moment Alex turned and made a move to leave, she shifted her attention to him. "Adom baby!
