---- Office Ashly washed up and got dressed for work before stepping down to the main floor of her chic, ultra- modern abode. Alex was in the kitchen, standing over the stove, wearing only a pair of gray sweatpants. Ashly took a deep breath and calmed herself; they didn't talk about this. About their past and why Alex left her. Ashly didn't ask any questions of her ex-mate.

They'd been apart for just one hour that weekend when Alex left to grab some things from his own home, including a change of work clothes they knew he'd need that Monday morning. Ashly was fairly certain that this was the first time they hadn't been completely naked since then. Ashly bit her lip, unable to keep her eyes off the Alpha's well-formed torso. It's not like she is checking on her ex-mate, but Ashly simply can't help.

Her heat had died down, but that didn't make Alex any less attractive. God, she really wished they didn't have to go into work. Alex inhaled and cast a glance towards the door, catching Ashly's scent as he stepped into the kitchen. She leaned against the kitchen threshold, arching her back so the tight, high-collar shirt she wore clung to her just so. "I thought I'd let you enjoy me a little before we have to spend the entire week pretending we've only ever spent a few hours together in the office." Eyes on Ashly, Alex turned the stove down before approaching her with a slow predatory stride. Strong arms wrapped Ashly's slightly smaller frame in a warm embrace, drawing out a sharp intake of breath.

Alex pressed his nose into the smooth, pale line of the Omega's neck and groaned. God, he missed this and how the hell he is going to live without checking Ashly, and they didn't talk about this. They need to talk; he needs to tell Ashly the truth: what really happened seven years ago? Ashly closed her eyes as the alpha inhaled her scent like it was a drug. Lips trailed hotly over her neck, sending a thrill jolting through her entire body. "Ashly," he gasped.

"Can we start again, Ashly?" ---- When Ashly didn't say anything, Alex tried again. "Can we start again where we left Ashly? I promise nothing has changed. I don't have anyone like you; I don't have any secrets. I will explain to you what happened seven years ago." Ashly still didn't say anything ; she is still in a daze. Alex really thinks he can just come back and fuck her and everything will be fine. They start being dovey, talking about sunshine and rainbows. It's been seven fucking years.

Ashly was alone, all alone with her son. She raised her son alone, and she took care of her father's company alone. She did everything alone. Alex leaves her without any explanation, like Ashly is nothing for him, and now. Now he fucking wants her like Ashly is nothing. Ashly doesn't have any respect, and their relationship will go as Alex wants. As suddenly as Alex had pulled Ashly into his arms, he released her when he didn't get any answer. Alex understand he fuck up again.

It's not the right time to talk to Ashly about this. "Breakfast is ready," he said, nodding back toward
