---- I took the cup from her and placed it aside before I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her against my chest. She clung to meas she cried. "We don't have anywhere else to be." I looked at Lucas for confirmation . "So, if you want, I can help you unpack the things." Sucking in a breath, she sat up and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I c-can't ask you to do that, Your Highness." The color in my cheeks deepened . I never expected anyone to call me that. I wasn't their queen.

I wasn't royalty. "T want to." She smiled at me. "I would appreciate it." "Let's go then." I stood and held out my hand for her. She hesitated a few seconds before she slipped her hand into mine. Lucas gave me a smile when we walked past him. He told me to do it like I would on earth, and it was exactly what I was doing. People could be total assholes. I wasn't doing this to create a good image for myself. I was doing it because she needed help and I wanted to ---- help her.

"Thank you," I told Xavier when placed the last box down. He nodded at me and then hurried out of the house, closing the door behind him. "T wasn't sure what you already had," I told her as 1 opened a box. "If you already have it, we can always give it to someone else who needs it." The more we unpacked the boxes, the more the woman relaxed. It felt strange because I didn't know her name and she hadn't introduced herself to me.

Sometime during all the unpacked, the little girl who opened the door appeared for a few seconds and then disappeared into the living room where Lucas was. I could hear her laughing which made me smile. A few minutes later, all the boxes were unpacked . I was busy folding some of the clothes when a loud cry pierced the air. "Oh, excuse me," the woman muttered as she hurried off. It didn't take long for her to appear again with a baby in her arms.

His face was red from crying and a few tears still lingered in his eyes. My eyes stayed glued to him as she moved around the kitchen. ---- "Do you want to hold him?" Iblinked at her. Swallowing, I nodded and moved closer with my arms held out. She carefully handed him over to me. Pulling him against my chest, I reached up witha shaky hand and brushed my palm over his short hair. "He's beautiful." "Looks like his father," she muttered. "T bet he'll be handsome.

You're going to have your hands full with all the ladies knocking on your door." She laughed. "I hope not." We shared a smile. I swayed from side to side, my eyes locked on his face. Big brown eyes stared up at me. When he lifted his hand, I held my finger up so he could wrap his little fingers around mine. "Do you want kids, Your Highness?" I glanced at her. "Maybe someday." "You're not sure if you want any?" "Tam," I told her softly.

"I do want kids but maybe not now." "Why not?" It was Lucas who asked the question. ---- I stared at him where he stood in the doorway, holding the little girl's hand. "We need to figure a few things out before we take that step." He raised an eyebrow. "Like what?" I glared at him. Was he going to push me to have this conversation while we were guests in someone else's home? His lips twitched. A soft knock on the door interrupted our stare -off.

Xavier opened the door big enough just to stick his head through the entry. "Ym sorry to interrupt but we need to leave immediately, sire." Lucas was instantly on alert. "What happened?" "Word has gotten around about the announcement you made this morning. Some are not happy."
