---- I took the cup from her and placed it aside before I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her against my chest. She clung to meas she cried. "We don't have anywhere else to be." I looked at Lucas for confirmation . "So, if you want, I can help you unpack the things." Sucking in a breath, she sat up and wiped the tears from her cheeks. I wasn't royalty. "T want to." She smiled at me. "I would appreciate it." "Let's go then." I stood and held out my hand for her. She hesitated a few seconds before she slipped her hand into mine. Lucas gave me a smile when we walked past him. He told me to do it like I would on earth, and it was exactly what I was doing. People could be total assholes. I wasn't doing this to create a good image for myself. I was doing it because she needed help and I wanted to ---- help her.

"Thank you," I told Xavier when placed the last box down. He nodded at me and then hurried out of the house, closing the door behind him. "T wasn't sure what you already had," I told her as 1 opened a box. "If you already have it, we can always give it to someone else who needs it." The more we unpacked the boxes, the more the woman relaxed. It felt strange because I didn't know her name and she hadn't introduced herself to me.

Sometime during all the unpacked, the little girl who opened the door appeared for a few seconds and then disappeared into the living room where Lucas was. I could hear her laughing which made me smile. A few minutes later, all the boxes were unpacked . I was busy folding some of the clothes when a loud cry pierced the air. "Oh, excuse me," the woman muttered as she hurried off. It didn't take long for her to appear again with a baby in her arms.

His face was red from crying and a few tears still lingered in his eyes. My eyes stayed glued to him as she moved around the kitchen. ---- "Do you want to hold him?" Iblinked at her.
