---- 95. ANGEL "T officially welcome you to our kingdom as our Queen." He smiled as he lowered the crown to the top of my head. "Welcome home, Your Highness." The man who married Lucas and me had been the one to perform the ceremony. It was held in the throne room with my mates standing at the front, Xavier standing by the doors, and aman with a camera moving around to film the ceremony. The dress was uncomfortable , and the pins Debora used to fix my hair was starting to give mea headache.
I knew I was sweaty under the heavy material and it made me uncomfortable. Mason had done a great job making the arrangements. I just wished they had warned me about the questions I was expected to answer and the vows I was to make to the people before I was crowned. In truth, it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it would be. But I was itching to get out of the dress. And the shoes. Debora made me wear heels with the dress and I felt like had been standing for what felt ---- like hours.
Lucas stepped forward to thank the man who in return gave him a bright smile and bowed at him before he walked away. Smiling, Lucas gripped my hands and raised them to his lips to press kisses to my knuckles. "My Queen," he muttered, eyes dancing with mirth. He stepped aside and Nate was suddenly there, repeating the action of his brother. "My Lady," he muttered, bowing low before he moved aside. Mason was the last to approach and the excitement I saw in his eyes couldn't be hidden.

He was taking too much enjoyment in this. He took hold of only one of my hands and bowed over it as his lips brushed my knuckles. "My Princess ," he muttered, lips twitching. His eyes locked with mine for a few seconds before he moved away to stand at Nate's side. "While we are all here and celebrating this wonderful moment," Lucas said as he slipped his fingers through mine. "I would like to make another announcement." I tensed , eyes darting up to him in surprise.
We had talked about announcing my pregnancy at the ceremony , but we hadn't agreed on it since the topic of conversation had shifted. ---- The door suddenly opened and a moment later a tall man slipped into the room. He nodded at Xavier as he moved to lean against the wall next to him. I blinked , my eyes locking with his for a few seconds before I turned to look at Lucas. Lucas had spotted him as well. I could feel the pain filling him and the fear he had of facing his father.
If [had magic, I would have made it all go away, but as life would have it, I was actually just a plain old human who was lucky enough to land herself in the lap of her inhuman mates. Nate cleared his throat. "By now you all would have received a gift." I gave Lucas's hand a squeeze and that seemed to make him snap out of his thoughts. "We would like to thank you for your support and belief in us." He sucked in a deep breath. "The last couple of weeks have been hard.
We have had to say goodbye to a few good people who fought by my side to keep our queen safe." "Can we just get on with it?" Mason interrupted. "I'm sorry I know you want to do it the right way and all, but things change and I'm too excited to stand here and wait for you." "Mason!" Nate growled. ---- Mason ignored him and moved closer to the camera. "We are having a baby!" he yelled. "Our mate is pregnant!" For a moment it was deadly silent and then the people gasped.
Congratulations hung in the air. Mason was suddenly in front of me. Jerking me against him, he picked me up and spun me in a circle while repeating; "We're going to have a baby." With a sigh, Lucas made a hand gesture toward the cameraman, and a second later he lowered the camera and moved away. "You seriously need to stop being so immature ," he growled at Mason. I was pulled from his arm against a hard chest that was still vibrating with low growls. My eyes darted around until I located Nate.
He was talking softly to their father. Brian glanced at us with a smile on his lips before he said something to Nate that made him laugh. I turned in Lucas's arms. "Go talk to him," I urged softly. "He doesn't hate you for what you did." Lucas frowned at me. He avoided glancing in that direction. "No."
