---- 84. ANGEL "How many different kinds of shifters are there?" I questioned. Lucas glanced down at me. "A few hundred," he answered softly. "But only a few live here that we know of. You have the dragon shifters, there's vampires, the d-" He broke off and cleared his throat. "I mean the Lycans. There's witches and warlocks." "Do witches count as shifters ?" I asked. "They can use magic." "Warlocks can change forms," Lucas said softly.
" Witches too with the help of their magic." "Can I ask you something?" He smiled. "You already did." Rolling my eyes, I slipped my arm through. "Why don't you trust Maurice?" "But Maurice has been helping us without asking for anything in return." "Yet," Lucas muttered , his steps slowing. "Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful for his health, but I don't trust him with your life yet." I nodded. It made sense. "you look like my aunt," Nalan said softly. "you look like my mom," I whispered. She took another step closer, brows dipping into a frown. Stopping in front of me, she reached out, but Lucas jerked me back against him, his chest vibrating ina low growl.
"There's no need to fight," Maurice said softly as he stepped between the two men. "We're here to help
