---- "Pll start researching and you can do some relaxing." Slipping my hand into hers, I led her out of the dining hall and towards the library. It was empty as expected . I left Angel by the door as I walked over to the desk in the far corner. Turning on the computer, I took a seat and leaned back in the chair to watch our mate as I waited for it to turn on. Angel was tracing the spines of the books with her fingertips as she moved around the room.
She paused on one, hesitated a moment, and then pulled a book from the shelf. Taking a seat on the couch, she placed the book down on her lap and opened it. My eyes lingered on her for a few more seconds before I started getting to work. It was easy to find Angel's social media accounts she had made when she still lived on Earth. There were a few pictures of her and who I assumed were her friends. Finding anything about her mother was a different story.
I searched her name and surname first, and then just tried her name but there were too many search results. It was the same with her surname. I knew what she looked like, but that didn't make the search any easier. ---- Running a hand through my hair, I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes again, they locked on Angel. She wanted answers and I was going to do my best to find her some. There had to be a reason why Angel made it through the portal. Thad a few theories.

But I didn't feel comfortable talking about it to anyone unless I had a few answers myself. I locked into Lucas's account and searched through the files until I found what I was looking for. After a few hours of searching through hundreds of pictures, I finally found the one I was looking for. The name under the picture matched the name Angel had given me which was a relief. What wasn't a relief was the fact that her mother wasn't human. Which meant that Angel wasn't exactly human.
My eyes darted over to Angel and my lips curled up into a smile. She had fallen asleep with the book open on her chest. Pushing the chair back, I stood and walked over to her. The right thing to do would be to carry her to bed, but I didn't want to let her out of my sight. I slipped ---- my arms under her body and moved her into a more comfortable position. Closing the book, I placed it down on the coffee table and covered her with a blanket.
Once I was sure that she was warm, I retook my seat behind the desk and focused on the computer again. "shit," Imuttered under my breath when I scrolled down and found something worse. Abigail Benz was reported missing twenty-one years ago.
