---- My stomach rolled when one of the men suddenly slammed his fists down on the front of the car and yelled something that couldn't be heard over the yelling of the other people. "Do any of them have weapons?" "Not that I can see." Lucas leaned forward and pulled off his jacket. "Put this on," he ordered, handing the jacket to me. I took it from him but froze when he started unbuttoning his shirt. My eyes dropped the expanse of skin revealed.

I shivered, forcing myself to focus on doing what he told me. Now wasn't the time to get all hot and bothered. Lucas's phone started ringing. "Nate," he answered . "No, we're surrounded . How are things at the castle?" He turned towards me with the phone clutched between his ear and shoulder. Tugging the ends of the jacket together, he zipped it up all the way to my chin. "you don't have to, I'm flying us out of here.

Just get ready to create a distraction." Pushing his phone back into his pocket, he leaned forward and spoke softly to Xavier and the driver. After a few minutes , he leaned back and reached for me. ---- "T want you to wrap around me and hold on as tightly as you can," he ordered. Lucas guided my legs high around his waist. His hands slipped down to my ass. He hoisted mea little higher up his body. I wrapped my arms around his neck but kept staring at him.

"Are you going to change ?" I questioned him. "The car's too small." He could destroy it and then he would hurt the people surrounding us. "'m not going to shift fully." He hugged me closer. " Keep your face pressed to my neck and hold on tightly." I hugged him closer. My heart was beating a mile a minute because of the fear I felt. If his plan failed, I had no idea what we were going to do. I was still trying to wrap my head around what was happening. Aloud boom sounded, startling me.

"Now," Lucas growled, body tensing. I pressed my face to the crook of his neck and squeezed my eyes closed as my hold around him tightened. My stomach dropped the moment he jumped. I ---- winced, expecting him to slam into the roof of the car. The warmth of the car disappeared and was replaced by the cold wind. The flap of wings could be heard over the roaring in my ears. I hesitated a moment and then turned my head slightly as I opened my eyes.

We were already high in the air, surrounded by dark clouds. I turned my head slightly and wished I hadn't. They looked like ants. I whimpered , stomach rolling with sudden nausea. "Almost there," he whispered against my ear. " Prepare for a sudden drop." Asecond later we were suddenly free-falling. Bile rose and I swallowed it back down. It would be a disaster if I puked on Lucas. My nails dug into his skin as my stomach continued to roll.

Sounds penetrated my mind and a moment later Lucas landed on his feet. His arms around me tightened and then slowly loosened. "You can let go now, little rabbit. We're home." I pulled away to blink at him. His eyes darted over my face. "Okay?" Swallowing, I managed a stiff nod. ---- "Go with Nate," he ordered softly, taking a step forward. "I need to handle this."
