---- 19. ANGEL Something had to be wrong. I glanced over at the clock. My frown deepened as I turned my focus back to the door. I had been sitting staring at the door for the last half an hour. Ihad soaked in the bath for a few minutes , washed my hair, and shaved my legs and under my arms. I skipped the body lotion since we were going to get sweaty anyway and then got dressed in the clothes the maid had laid out for me. It was a perfect fit despite the dress being new.

When I finished dressing, I explored the clothes that had mysteriously appeared in my closet. Dresses, pants, t-shirts, underwear, shoes. It was more than I could ever wear. A sigh fell from my lips. Standing, I kicked off my shoes and made my way over to the window. Pushing the curtain aside, I glanced around the courtyard and then looked up at the sky. It had been cloudy, but the sky was darkening fast. My stomach twisted with nerves. I loved rainy weather on Earth.

They were from the garden I could see from my window. And then Nate's face appeared. Ismiled. "Sorry I'm late, honeybee," he apologized as he handed the roses over to me. "Tt's okay." I pressed the roses to my nose and sucked ina deep breath. "Mason is also running late." Nate frowned. Stepping into the room, he closed the door behind him as he pulled his phone from his pocket. "Let me call him." I glanced around the room, searching for a place to put the roses while he talked to his brother.

Holding out his hand towards me, Nate gave mea small smile. "Dinner is probably already cold, but I can send someone to heat it up. Let's go." I slipped my hand into his and allowed him to lead me over to a door on the right side of the room. It was locked the last time I tried to open it so it came as a surprise when the door swung open the moment Nate turned the handle. "Wow," I breathed. The room was bigger than mine.

It had its own sitting room where a table had been set with candles and everything. The bed covers had been pulled back and rose petals covered the floor around the bed. ---- "The rose petals were Mason's idea," Nate said softly. "He didn't feel comfortable with lighting candles ." Why don't you start eating, and I'll just go have a quick shower." He sniffed at his armpit. "I kind of stink." "T don't smell anything," I muttered. "You will once I get you under me." Color flooded my cheeks. Nate pressed a kiss to the top of my head and then hurried into the bathroom. He didn't bother closing the door which wasn't such a big deal since I had seen him naked at the cabin. I bit my lip as I watched him undress.
