---- link. *I need you to direct me in the right direction .* Lucas didn't reply. Letting out a frustrated growl, I circled and started at the west side of the mountain, this time flying a little closer. After flying over two more times, I finally spotted the entrance to Lucas's den. I once again made sure that nobody was around before I landed on the ledge of the cave. Tugging my wings tightly to my body, I slowly entered. My nostrils twitched. Dread filled me as I moved deeper into the cave.
A low warning growl made me freeze. *[t's just me,* I told him. I slowly stepped into view. Lucas was standing protectively in front of Angel, body tense and claws out, ready to protect her if it was needed. Dropping the bag by his feet, I took a small step back and waited. Lucas sucked in a deep breath and blew it out. His body slowly relaxed. Grabbing the bag, he turned towards Angel, making sure to block my view of her. I could hear the erratic beating of her heart.

The smell ---- of sex hung heavily in the air which made it clear why Lucas was acting the way he was. "Here," he told her as he handed her some of the clothes I packed. "Put these on first." "W-we're leaving?" Angel whispered. "We need to. There's a blizzard coming." He helped her pull on the terminal underwear. "It's too cold for you here and I can't risk us getting stuck in the cave id there is an avalanche." "Oh." "Up." Angel gripped his shoulders as she struggled to her feet.
Her eyes darted over his head to me. "H-Hi, Nate," she stuttered, lips curling into a shaky smile. I tilted my head in greeting. With the boots on and tied, Lucas stood and wrapped the scarf around her neck. The thick jacket was next. Zipping it up, he pulled the beanie over her head and then stood back. "Here, this will protect your eyes from the cold." Lucas handed her the goggles and then the gloves. Moving away from her, he put out the fire and then turned towards me.
---- "Tm going to fly with her," he said. "To make sure she doesn't slip." I moved back to the entrance of the cave and lay down, waiting for them. It wasn't long. "Have you ever ridden a horse?' Lucas questioned. "A pony when I was a little girl." "Tt's almost the same," he muttered. "You're just going to be riding something much bigger." I turned my head to watch them. Gripping Angel's hips, he easily lifted her onto my back. "Move your leg," he ordered softly. "Straddle him. Good.
You hold on tightly to this part here." "T won't fall?" Angel questioned. "No." Lucas climbed up behind her and settled into the saddle. "I won't let you fall. You should've gotten her some gloves, Nate," he growled at me. I growled back as I stood. Moving forward , I waited until Lucas gave me the okay. Walking out onto the ledge, I slowly spread my wings so as not to startle her. With one flap of my wings and aslight jump, we were in the air.
---- Angel's loud gasp filled the air either from being so high up or from the cold. I couldn't wait to show her around when the snow melts. Once we got back to the castle and sorted things out, I was going to have them make a saddle especially for her so she could fly with us whenever she wanted. That was if she decided to stay after what just happened.
