---- "You chose the right moment to bite me," she finally answered. "It didn't hurt that much at first but when some of the pleasure faded..." She trailed off. "Lucas taught me a few things last night," I told her softly. "Most of the information is about dragon mates but Lucas believes that it will work the same with you since you're our true mate." She swallowed and then licked her lips.

"Can I read it?" "you don't even have to ask, love." "Tt's just that Lucas said that some things aren't meant for me to know." "That was before we marked you as our mate," Lucas said as he entered the office with a tray filled with food. He placed it down on the desk within reach and then walked over to the window to take a look outside. I picked up a piece of fruit and held it to Angel's lips. She hesitated a moment and then took a bite. My knot slowly went down as I fed her.

I was glad to see that Angel had more of an appetite. She finished a whole plate of fruit and some of the yogurt before she had enough. A sigh fell from Lucas as he turned away from the window. ---- "More trouble?" I asked him. "Surprisingly not," he muttered as moved closer. "A few people overheard Maurice calling Angel queen.

At least we don't have to worry about how we are going to tell the people about Angel anymore." It was one less thing to worry about, but it didn't take care of all our worries. Mother was still someone we needed to sort out, and then there were the issues with the council if they decided to take things future and remove Lucas from his position. We needed to find a suitable place for Angel to stay that was warm enough for her.

Lucas wrapped a blanket around Angel's shoulders and carefully picked her up. With her in his arms, he nodded at me and then walked over to the secret tunnel behind his desk. "Tf anyone's looking for me, I'm busy handling something ." He frowned at me. "I don't want to be disturbed unless it's something very important, got it?" I glared at him. "I believe we were still busy." Lucas smirked but said nothing as he disappeared into the tunnel. Shaking my head, I got up and fixed my pants.

I ---- walked over to the window and pushed the curtain aside. There were only a few people lingering outside the gates and surprisingly, most of them carried flowers and fruit baskets. I frowned. It was a complete one-eighty on their part. But I wasn't going to complain. The more people were on our side, the better. If we had the kingdom behind us, the council couldn't do shit about Lucas and the fact that Angel was our mate.

"Trouble?" Nate questioned as he walked out of the bathroom, freshly showered. "Not so far," I told him honestly. "Looks like fruit baskets and some flowers." Nate frowned. "Fruit baskets in this weather? I don't trust anyone bringing Angel gifts made of magic." When he said it like that... "Lucas asked not to be disturbed unless it's something very important," I told him. "Of course he did," Nate muttered. The tone of his voice made me study him a little closer.

Nate caught my eye and gave mea grim smile. "He's planning on asking her to marry him."
