---- 45. MASON Our beautiful mate. I stroked her cheek with a fingertip and then pulled the sheets over her before I moved away. My eyes locked on Lucas and Nate who sat on the sofas. Both of them were surrounded by files and papers. I had some paperwork, but my mind kept straying to Angel. "Are we going to keep ignoring the elephant in that room?" I questioned as I took a seat. "We can't keep Angel locked up in her room forever." "Not forever," Lucas muttered.
"Just for the time being." I glared at him. "Mason's right," Nate said, setting his papers aside. " We need to do something about this before Mother tries something new." Letting out a sigh, Lucas placed the papers he had been reading aside. His eyes darted over to the bed and then locked on me. "What do you expect me to do? Kick her out of the castle and forbid her from putting foot here again?" "Yes," I answered immediately. ---- His eyes narrowed.

Nate leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. His eyes locked with mine for a second and then darted to Lucas. "Come on, it's not like she has ever treated us like her kids," I growled. "We were raised by the maids until we were old enough to control. When has she ever hugged us, or told us that she loved us, or even told us that she's proud of us?" They remained silent. Snarling, I jumped to my feet and glared at them.
"Look how she reacted when you told her that you and Arabella are separating!" "She's still our mother. Despite all the shit she never did." Lucas ran a hand through his hair. "She's, our blood." "Blood or not, she tried to kill our mate." Nate stood and started pacing. "She doesn't know that Angel is our mate." I scoffed. "Like that's going to make a difference. Mother hates her because she's human. If she finds out that Angel is our mate..." I trailed off.
"She's going to do a lot more to get rid of her if she finds that out," Nate said. ---- Lucas growled. "The upside to this is that you bonded her." Nate frowned down at the floor. "If she hurts Angel, she hurts you." "Like she loves you enough to care about that," I growled. "If Nate hadn't stopped the hired men, they would have killed you along with Angel." "So, what's your plan, Mason?" Lucas snapped. "You obviously have one if you're pointing all this out." "T want to bond her," I told them.
Lucas's lips parted, but Nate held up his hand to stop him. He was silent for a few seconds before he nodded. "Actually , that's not a bad idea," he muttered. "If all three of us are bonded to Angel, the chances of anyone hurting her are slim. If they hurt her, they hurt us and they won't do that because then their kingdom will be without a leader." "Seriously, Nate?" Lucas frowned at him. "Nobody wants to lose all three of their leaders.
Most of the people here know what happens if our kind lose their mates. We can use it as a safety blanket while we try and figure things out with Mother." "We need a plan, Lucas, and right now, it's the only one we have," I told him. "Are you going to wait for her to try something again? Will you do something
